EXTRACT from HONG KONG (1937) Revision (No.31 of 1911) 39.

In all enactments the following words shall have the meanings assigned to them unless otherwise provided or unless the context otherwise

equires.

B. Colonial definitions.

(1) "The Colony", "this Colony" or "Hong Kong", means the whole area of land and water lying between the following boundaries

On the south

The parallel of latitude 22° 9' north between the points where it is intersected by the meridians of longitude 113° 52' east and 114° 30' east of Greenwich;

On the north A line drawn from the point where the meridian of longitude 113° 52' east of Greenwich intersects the parallel of latitude touching the extreme south-west point of the shore of Deep Bay to the said south-west point of the shore of Deep Bay; thence along the high water mark upon the shore of Deep Bay to the estuary of the Sham Chum River; thenos by a line drawn as described in the agreement delimiting the northern frontier of the New Territories signed by James Haldane Stewart Lookhart and Wong Ts'un-shin at Hong Kong on the 19th day of March, 1899, and following the high water mark in Mirs Bay to the point where the meridian of longitude 114° 30' east of Greenwich intersects the mainland.

On the east The meridian of longitude 114° 30' east of Greenwich between the points where it intersects the mainland and the parallel of latitude 22° 9' north;

On the west The meridian of longitude 113° 52′ east of Greenwich between the points where it intersects the parallel of latitude touching the extreme south-west point of the shore of Deep Bay and the parallel of latitude 22° 9' north: Provided that, between the points on the north and south coast of Lantao where the meridian of longitude 113° 52′ east of Greenwich intersects the island, the boundary follows the western coast- line of Lantao and includes the waters appertaining thereto.
